Feel free to add new tips for X-Force.

  • New players of X Force should improve their skill in the fight simulator for the spaceship fight first. They should also try out different button configurations to reach the optimal controllability for them. The buttons can be changed under options > keyboard in the main screen.

  • You can purchase a new base on the menu "base" for 200,000 credits. Eight bases are permitted and a new base must have a minimum of. 2,000 km of distance between it and the other bases. At the upper, left edge of most screens you can switch between the bases. To assign a spaceship to a new home base, choose this new base as a destination. This is only possible when at least one hangar is free in the new base.

  • You should pay attention to the freight shipments when you purchase and sell goods. If you buy goods, they are paid for in advance. You then must hope that the freight shipment arrives safely to the base. At the sale you get the money only when the freight shipment has reached the purchasing country. You should take care that the freight shipment isn't destroyed.

  • You shouldn't spoil your relationship with the production countries for country- specific weapons. If you want to buy weapons, countries with very low confidence in you seldom make offers. The costs for a weapon or the construction plans rise dramatically when a country’s confidence in you is low.

  • With the help of X-script (the built-in script language) it is quite easy to make new complex missions. With the X-script mission editor is simple to modify the included scripts. You also can use X-script to obtain some money or equipment. Have a look at it and play with it a little.

  • The base research time refers to a scientist with 80 ability points. By using more scientists and/or higher ability points the research goes faster.

  • Jet engines with maneuvering nozzles should always get the advantage over jet engines without maneuvering nozzles. The maneuvering nozzles make it easier to out maneuver the UFO and avoid its weapon fire.

  • Always use the correct weapon against UFOs. For example, Armageddons can shot down with Verno-rockets relatively easy, but against Vendikar, it's practically a waste of ammunition. Use laser instead. Note: against weaker UFOs like Observation, Research and Transport Ships, any weapon fulfills good, but use energy weapons when you can. Not only they're fast, but also precise, powerful, long-ranged, and is undepletable. The exception of this is the Tesla Cannon, because it's firing range is ridiculous, but hits hard.

  • Laser weapons have the advantage that they need no amunition. In addition, they are ten times faster than rockets and projectile weapons.

  • There are 100 points for shooting down a UFO over a country. Shooting down a UFO over water brings 150 points. Shooting down a UFO over water makes all aliens drown in the UFO. If the UFO is shot down over a country, some aliens survive and the threat must be knocked out in a tactical mission. Tactical missions are marked with a blue point on the map of the world.

  • Equipment can be improved in the laboratory up to five times. The equipment becomes better but the price and the production time remain constant. The complete equipment in the store is all improved free of charge automatically. To improve equipment, select 'upgrade' in the laboratory. Then the upgrades can investigated like normal research projects.

  • Does not apply to V.900Always pay attention to health of your soldiers. If they are hardly hurt, you should beam them up. There is no possibility to heal them in the fight.

  • One of the advantages of arcade style ship fights is that if your ship is close to being destroyed, you can fly your ship away from the fight. You can't do this in Auto-Combat.

  • Armour plating is built fast and sells for high profit. They are ideal to get you rich!

  • In the soldier equipment screen you can use double click to assign a weapon to the current soldier. Also, right click will put the piece of equipment in the soldier or in the deposit (depending where you click).

  • If you don't want to fight a ground combat or many of your soldiers has been severely injured, try luring out the UFOs over water. Simply move over water near the UFO. If it gets close, it will immediately head to that direction and attack. The only drawback is, that you can't click the Cancel button in the stat panels, thus, escape without fight.
